In Pakistan little attention is given to infrastructure and technology as far as educational institutions are concerned. In this regard, people of Multan must be thankful to Madam Nishat Merzia Khanum and Mr. Alamgir Khan Feroze who, with their sublime vision undertook this responsibility in a way that resulted in a grand success in form of state-of-the-art building structure and excellent educational system.
It is an admitted fact that the rapid rate of technological advancement and the information highway have opened up new opportunities and challenges in the educational scenario. Keeping in view the confronting challenges, Nishat College of Science has established a Research & Development Department with an intention to get benefit from research activities in order to enhance the prestige of the Institution by achieving the academic excellence.
The Department provides innovative ideas and visionary programs with an objective to introduce the students of the town with the new trends of technological advancements. It has made its successful endeavor in launching Nishat Institute of Technology (NIT), Nishat Entry Test Services, and Post Graduate Classes. These programs facilitate the students to get advanced studies without any inconvenience even in their own town and ultimately they can be what they want to be.

About Campus
Knowledge of science and technology has never been static. Radius of the sphere of knowledge is increasing with every passing moment. Keeping this fact in view, the Organization has always made conscious efforts to harmonize the students with new trends. Nishat Group of Schools & Colleges has built a new high-tech purpose-built campus for Nishat College of Science with a state-of-the-art infrastructure that encompasses all the aspects of contemporary facilities and technologies.
Striking architecture, a superb site and excellent accommodation is an identity of our new infrastructure. The Campus consists of 22 Kanals and spreads over a covered area of 260,000 Sq. Ft. The infrastructure comprises well equipped science laboratories and high tech futuristic computer lab, rich library and furnished modern most, atomized, well-lit, airy, spacious Lecture Theaters having the congenial environment for the students. The campus not only provides the best educational facility but also offers recreational facilities in the shape of indoor & outdoor games and a TV lounge. A well designed gymnasium has also been set up for the physical fitness of the students. A capacious cafeteria having comfortable seats has been designed to provide a variety of nutritious and hygienic food stuff. A multi-purpose auditorium having 200 seats is in progress.
Lecture Theaters
Effective learning is only possible in the class rooms where the environment is conducive. Lecture Theaters in Nishat College of Science have been designed and constructed keeping in view all the aspects of teaching learning process. Each lecture Theater accommodates a strength of 80 students and is equipped with smart class room atomized multimedia system, where not only is the lecture delivered effectively but there is also a facility available to record the lecture for future facilitation to the students. After reviewing the requirements, as a first step, Clevtron has offered its Smart Classrooms System that meets best all the basic requirements. The system has been designed to the highest technical standards. Proposed controls system is expandable & scalable allowing IT staff to remotely control or monitor classrooms, if needed, over campus LAN or Wi-Fi over time. All the equipment chosen are from well established global brands known for reliability, performance and scalability.

The smart class room control panel is capable of controlling projector screen, DVD and sound system. Each Lecture Theater is also fitted with green boards which again is a versatile facility provided in the Campus. The furniture fabrication has been designed at the highest level of technical and engineering standard to avoid the hindrances and to provide maximum comfort to the learners.
Computer Lab
As a first step in our strategic plan, we have laid the platform for an educational network that shall serve as a vital tool for future educational and research roadmap of Nishat College of Science. This state-of-the-art Campus is equipped with 3M Volition UTP Category 6 structured cabling infrastructure supporting next generation data, voice and video applications. Computer labs are built on the latest Cisco switching infrastructure and the latest core i7 - 4th Generation based machines backed with a centralized data processing center equipped with the latest and up to date blade servers shall provide a more centralized, efficient client environment that is easier to maintain and able to respond more quickly to changing educational needs. The computer lab can accommodates 160 students at a time on wired network; Wi-Fi facility is also available all over the building.
By making technology a key tool for education, teachers can become facilitators, allowing students more freedom to discover and explore. Our efforts will result in expanding learning opportunities and engaging students to use collaboration technology. Online access to a Student Portal means efficient and timely distribution of announcements, time tables, assessment reports and helping material for the students. The Institute deeply values and looks forward to a long standing relationship with the Nishatians.
Laboratories
For the research and development in science and technology, laboratories play an effective role. The Administration of Nishat College of Science has made a huge investment on the laboratories. Labs have been positioned in the Campus to meet all the requirements of intermediate, BS, MS and M. Phil courses in various disciplines. Latest imported equipment has been placed to provide high quality research facility to the student as well the Faculty Members. Wi-Fi and wired network are available for online research purpose. Just like the lecture theaters, the science labs are also equipped with multimedia facility so that practical can be demonstrated visually as well to clarify and consolidate the concepts of the students.
Library
Our Traditional as well as digital library is another distinctive feature of this Campus. To meet every need of the students, Nishat College of Science has established a library which has the capacity to contain all the latest and the best curriculum related books, journals and relevant material. Apart from curriculum, the library has been planned to contain the best collection of famous national and international authors. The library is divided in various sections like curriculum and reference books, historical books and encyclopedias, literary books and Adab Corner. The library boasts its own video and audio reference corner to facilitate the students regarding curriculum. All the recorded audio lectures will be available in the audio corner. Latest magazines, daily news papers, journals, and research papers will also be available. Digital library will be established in the near future.
Examination Hall
Nishat College of Science boasts a well‐furnished, well‐lit, airy and capacious Examination Hall occupying an area of 5500 Sq. Ft. It is facilitated with the capacity to accommodate 500 students at the same time. Round Tests, Terminal Examinations, Pre‐Board Examinations of the students are held in this hall.
Auditorium
For the personality development and confidence boosting activities of the students, an auditorium plays a key role. Nishat College of Science cannot overlook this important facet of college life. A modern, versatile auditorium has been built that has the capacity of two hundred seats and Hi‐tech audio visual aids including the facility of international teleconferencing.
HOD's Offices
Faculty Members are the most important asset for any institute. They are an integral part of the team which leads any institute to the peak of success. Keeping their importance in view, the organization has arranged separate cabins for HOD’s and meeting rooms where they can indulge themselves into fruitful discussion with the Faculty Members & Students for immediate resolution of issues faced by the students.
Teacher's Lounge
For effective and efficient performance of fertile brain, it is necessary to provide a comforting and soothing atmosphere. Keeping in view this key fact, the Administration of Nishat College of Science has especially designed a Teachers' Lounge including separate cabins for HOD's where they can guide the students as well as supervise their respective departments. They can also relax and refresh in their leisure.
TV Room
Importance of electronic media can never be negated. Having provided all the other facilities in the campus, the administration of Nishat College of Science decided to make available a TV Room so that the students could be kept aware of the latest and updated information about the current affairs and sports events round the globe.
Hostel
The Campus boasts its own Hostel facility within its premises for accommodating the students coming from remote areas and outside the Multan city. The hostel rooms are designed in a manner to give students fully relaxed environment. Homely decorated hostel rooms are airy, commodious and comforting with power backup facility. The hostel dorms consist of 2 beds and large 4 beds. Students are provided with the internet and telephone facilities as well. However, a strong check is kept on the students so as to train them to abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel.
Dispensary
To cope with any emergency, the Campus does have the facility of a well-managed dispensary. Trained paramedical staff has been appointed to treat the sick students living in the hostel. Besides this, a complete first-aid kit is also available to facilitate the students in general.
Cafeteria & Students’ Lounge
Students need a space where they can sit and relax during their spare time. For this purpose, a capacious cafeteria & a students' lounge, having comfortable seating have been introduced where students can get a variety of nutritious and hygienic food stuff.
Indoor & Outdoor Games
Sports, games and exercise are an integral part of the students' physical and mental development. Keeping in mind that students require to be provided extraordinary sports and exercise facilities, an indoor sports room consisting of table tennis, snooker and billiards has been specified so that the students may spend their leisure to entertain and amuse themselves. For outdoor games, play grounds and basket ball court are in provision.
Power Backup
Nishat College of science has heavy duty generators so that the students may not suffer the agony caused by load shedding. The facility of Uninterrupted Power Supply enables the students to continue their academic pursuits without any fear of hindrance.
Parking
A vast area inside and outside the campus building is available to meet the parking needs of the students, Faculty Members as well as visitors.
Security & Surveillance
Now-a-days, security is a serious concern for everyone. That is why vigilant, powerful and visionary administration of Nishat college of Science has taken concrete steps in this regard. The most advanced security system comprising 300 CCTV cameras has been installed to cover
each and every corner of the campus including entrance and exit with an intention to monitor the activities of all kinds round the clock. A professional security staff comprising twelve vigilant individuals is always alert with an intention to ensure security.

Teaching Strategies
At Nishat College, different teaching strategies are exercised like group discussions, educational activities, emphasis on writing skills, working on science projects, research skills building and knowledge & ideas sharing, use of Multimedia Audio Visual aid to deliver lectures. Key skills and different educational techniques are exercised in various classes to enable the students to proceed towards the level of comprehension and competence. In an English medium institute, it is compulsory to make the student speak English fluently and unhesitatingly in the presence of his teachers and other fellow students.
Parent Teacher Meeting
Every child’s achievements are celebrated through individual learning journals which monitor each child’s progress and are shared with parents on a regular basis. Parents play a vital role in the education of their child. Strong communication link between parents and teachers is of key importance if children are to reach their true potential. Parent teacher meeting is one of the prominent features of the academic activities of the institute. This activity is frequently exercised specially during the round tests and terminal examinations. During these meetings, the parents get informed of the academic performance of their kids. Their drawbacks in performance are vividly discussed during these meetings. Various strategies are devised in this regard by both the teachers and the parents. The consistent link between the teachers and the parents makes the students utterly involved in their studies. Summer camp plays a pivotal role for the best utilization of student’s free time after Matriculation Examination. The students availing themselves of this golden opportunity also get familiar with teaching methods of the teachers, intricate aspects of the syllabus and the entire academic environment of the institution. Summer camp provides the students with an ample opportunity to form the front-ground of the preparation of their studies.
Entry Test Department
Nishat College of Science has taken vibrant steps to launch an Entry Test Department to ensure the brilliant success of the students. The department comprises highly qualified, high‐profiled, devoted, committed and experienced faculty, whose entire intention is towards the preparation of Entry Test. Entry Test System will continue parallel to the traditional test system of Intermediate.

Functions and Events
In the yearly activity calendar, special place has been given to functions and events. Every year sports festival, welcome and farewell parties and musical nights, concerts, bone fire are arranged for the students’ recreation.
Sports Festival
Sports festival is a very grand and colorful event of sports in which students participate in different games like cricket, football, table tennis, badminton, snooker, billiards, etc.
Welcome Dinner
In order to show respect and brotherhood to the new 1st year class, 2nd year class students give welcome dinner to them in their honour. This is the event in which along with dinner, students show their talent in the field of drama, comedy and other stage performance which is very entertaining. Both students and teachers enjoy this event.
Parent's Day
Parent’s day held every four years is considered to be the prime function under the keen supervision of Madam Nishat Khanum. Everything, from decoration of school to the training of the students in different events, is done to the level of perfection. Students along with their parents from all the branches are invited to watch this beautiful and well organized event. On this occasion, real gold and silver medals were awarded to the students who stood first or got positions in school and in BISE examinations during last four years.
Excursion
Excursions are considered to be an integral part of the academic activities of the students. They cause refreshment, amusement and real bliss during the strenuous routines of the students. They expose the horizons of knowledge and recreation by breaking the monotonous routines and melancholic hours of the students. Keeping in view all this, The Nishat Group of Schools and Colleges has stepped forward in commencing this sumptuous tradition. Students are taken to different historical and hilly areas for study and recreational visits.
